2018...The year that was!

2018 was an incredible year. It was the year of the Bitcoin, of the Triple Talaq bill, of the #MeToo movement and so many other things. But what was in it for ME! Let me recollect. I watched the following awesome (and some not so awesome) movies in 2018:

  1. Aquaman
  2. Fantastic Beasts: The crimes of Grindelwald
  3. Andhadun
  4. Stree
  5. Gold
  6. Mission Impossible: Fallout
  7. Raazi
  8. Avengers: Infinity War
  9. A Quiet Place
  10. Sonu Ke Titu ki Sweety
  11. Padmavat
Further, it was the year when I finally went to South India vacation with Bhavya...something I had planned to do since college days. The Ooty, Kodai, Munnar trip turned out to be one of the best!



It was also the year when I decided to pursue a distance MBA. In 2018, the 7th pay commission got implemented causing good (if not significant) revision in the paycheck. This year also saw Mohit (college buddy) getting hitched. The celebration of the POWERGRID foundation day with Monali Thakur was one to remember. The New Renewable Energy Detailed Procedure got notified in May'18 which resulted in significant work load addition in office.

Most importantly, Me & Bhavya lived each day of this year together and each day was as merry & awesome as it could get. 

Goodbye. See you in the 2019. Hope it turns out to be as good as the year that was...2018!

GPA, Grade and Percentage Calculator for IGNOU MBA (MP) Programme

I searched a lot online for an authentic way to calculate GPA / Percentage for IGNOU MBA Programme but I was forced to read a whole lot of trash and now that I have finally understood it, I will be sharing it with you guys so you know exactly where you stand as IGNOU only mention Grade in Marksheet. The Grading system in IGNOU MBA is given below: Letter Grade Percentage Equivalent Qualitative Level A 80% and above Excellent B 60% to 79.9% Very Good C 50% to 59.9% Good D 40% to 49.9% Satisfactory E Below 40% Un-satisfactory Each course is given a Grade of maximum 5. MBA from IGNOU...My experiences so far!

Last year, after a lot of deliberations, I decided to do a distance MBA course (along-side office schedule). After a lot of research, I found that distance MBA from IGNOU is one of the safest options out there as several such colleges offer distance courses whose degrees are not even accredited. IGNOU, as you all must be aware of, is established by an Act of the Parliament and is genuine.  I cleared the OPENMAT entrance examination (for entrance into the MBA Programme, not required for PG Diploma courses) and enrolled into the "MP" or Management Programme. The special features of this programme are its low fees (its dirt cheap), wide acceptability and modular course (6 courses yield you a diploma, 11 courses yield a PG Diploma and all 21 courses of course yield the MBA degree).
